The Iranian Scholarship Foundation (ISF) provides financial support to students of Iranian descent who are studying in the United States. An all volunteer-based organization, the Foundation offers several scholarships that are funded by donations, including the ISF Undergraduate Scholarship. This renewable scholarship is one of the most generous scholarships available to students who are of Iranian descent and is given out based on student need.
To qualify for the ISF Undergraduate Scholarship, students must be either enrolled or accepted to a four-year university in the United States. They must be undergraduate students and possess or maintain a grade point average of at least 3.5. Further, eligible students are of Iranian descent, demonstrate a financial need for support, and are involved in community service.
Students that apply while still in high school must also have an ACT score of at least 27 or an SAT score of at least 1850.
Assuming a student is eligible for the ISF Undergraduate Scholarship, they must complete an application form and send it in with an essay discussing their dreams and aspirations. Transcripts from either a high school or college are also necessary, as are two letters of recommendation. One of these letters must be from a professor or teacher and the other must be from an organization at which the applicant volunteered.
